Central Pa. Musician, Hairdresser to Appear Alongside Award-Winning Actress in New TV Series

If you had walked into a hair salon in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania last year, you probably wouldn't have guessed the man cutting your hair was about to share a scene with an Emmy-winning actress on a major FX series.

But that's exactly what happened to Deuce Gibb, a Harrisburg-based hairdresser, part-time model, and longtime member of the central PA rock band The Martini Brothers. Gibb makes his television debut in "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans," the Ryan Murphy anthology series that dives into the fallout between writer Truman Capote and the New York socialites who once called him a friend.

A Small Role With a Big Story Behind It

Gibb isn't new to being in front of a camera. Years ago, he had a brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it part in "Girl, Interrupted," filmed in Harrisburg, where he played what he jokingly calls "Seedy-Looking Guy." Most of that scene ended up on the cutting room floor, though he still managed to spend some time on set with Angelina Jolie.

This time around, the stakes were bigger. Gibb was flown to New York to film a scene alongside an award-winning actress for "Feud," working under the direction of an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker. He described watching the actress rehearse just a few feet away, with only her hairdresser, himself, and the director in the room, as one of the most memorable moments of the experience.

The W Talent NYC Connection

So how does someone who spends most of his week doing haircuts in central Pennsylvania end up on an FX set in New York? The answer traces back to a modeling and talent agency called W Talent NYC.

Gibb's connection to the agency started small. A friend who worked there would occasionally send him models who needed their hair styled before a photoshoot. Somewhere along the way, he mentioned that he'd love to get back in front of the camera himself, whether for modeling, commercials, or something bigger.

That conversation led to Gibb building a profile with the agency and being added to its database of talent available for extra and day-player roles. He's the first to admit he doesn't fit the typical leading-man mold, and that's exactly what worked in his favor.

"I'm the older guy now," he said. "I don't have a belly, and I still have all my hair. I figured there had to be work for me somewhere."

When a production needed someone with that specific look, and who also happened to know his way around a pair of scissors, the call came through the agency straight to Gibb.

Why Stories Like This Matter for Talent Agencies

Gibb's path is a good example of how talent and modeling agencies like W Talent NYC create real opportunities beyond the obvious runway or campaign work. Not every placement is a cover shoot. Sometimes it's a background actor role that turns into a scene with an award-winning cast, or a stylist connection that opens the door to an entirely different kind of gig.

For anyone on the agency side, it's a reminder that a strong network and a well-maintained talent database can turn into unexpected wins, for the agency and the talent alike. For someone like Gibb, it proves that persistence, a good look, and the right connections can lead to opportunities most people wouldn't expect at any stage of their career.
